The Case

What we found in Bellevue.

He went by Bentley — like the car. And he posted it everywhere: the Bentley, wrapped fender to fender in a skin of gold. The jet ski, gold too. A penthouse he said cost forty thousand dollars just to furnish. He posted all of it, constantly, because the photographs were the point. They were the bait.

Federal prosecutors say the life in those pictures was paid for by women he kept in luxury apartments and sold for sex — in Seattle, in Bellevue, on the Las Vegas Strip. The youngest had just aged out of foster care. He found them at the lowest point of their lives and offered the one thing they didn't have: a way out.

It ran for years behind doors that looked like every other door on the hall. The neighbors didn't know. The leasing office didn't know. The concierge who signed for the packages didn't know. It surfaced only when someone finally noticed how many strangers came and went from a single unit.

Episode 02 walks the whole story — the women, the gold, the unraveling, and a federal trial that proved harder than the headlines. Because when twelve people finally sat down to decide what really happened behind that door, they couldn't fully agree. This is the Wicked Neighbors case about the most ordinary thing in the world: a beautiful building, a locked door, and no idea what's on the other side.
